    🚨 Listen carefully from @16:22 - @17:06. He says that Acts 2:21 is explained and defined by Acts 2:38. ...which is correct.✅ Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you *in the name of Jesus Christ* for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. BUT when he 'quotes' Acts 2:38 in the video @16:47 he only says "repent and be baptized......for the remission of sins" purposefully misquoting the verse, leaving out "in the name of Jesus Christ" so that he can give a false conclusion. @17:00 that: remission of sin = be saved ✅ Repent+baptism = Calling on the name❌ - 🤷‍♂️Why do they want to leave the *name* of Jesus out of baptism ? Also. If it is just repentance and baptism without the name of Jesus then John's baptism would have been good enough in Acts 19 Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. - Acts 19:1-5 …. Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 ¶ When they heard this, they were baptized *in the name of the Lord Jesus.*

    This falling from grace does not say you have lost your salvation, grace is unearned favor, you can fall from your earthly parent's good graces, but that does not mean you are no longer their child, that is a false analogy. 1 Corinthians 9:27 does not say anything about Paul perishing, it says disqualified, castaway, not as losing his salvation but his effectiveness as a preacher of the gospel. 2 Peter 2:20 says nothing about losing your salvation, it is talking about going back to your old sins and acting like you were before you received eternal life. Look up the word's everlasting, eternal, and the word never. You are calling Jesus who is God a liar, he said his gift of life is everlasting or it lasts forever, John 6:51 and 6:58 Jesus says you will live forever not you will live until you sin again, that would not be eternal life as Jesus has clearly said, did Jesus get it wrong and Don got it right? 1 john 5:10-11 He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself, he that believes not God has made him a liar, because he believes not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God has given unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He did not say he gives partial, or life until you lose it by your performance, if that were true then Don is earning his salvation by his performance, but we know it is not of works, or performance, but by grace through faith. This man is deceived and is trying to deceive others by the twisting of the scriptures as Peter said in 2 Peter 3:15-16. Shame on you Don!

      EugeneHolley Good post,. These are some of my comments: B. First Cor 9:24 - 27 "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. (25) And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. (26) I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: (27) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." COMMENTS: a. Mr. Blackwell states that 1 Corinthians 9:27 shows that a believer can fall from grace and lose salvation. b. Paul uses the context of these verses to show his readers the importance of seeking heavenly rewards by comparing the event to a sporting event. Verse (27) makes it known that, he (Paul), will not be preaching one thing and doing something else; todays term: Hypocrite. In scripture, a seal is used to: Guarantee security or indicate ownership. Secure Jesus' tomb (Matthew 27:66). Used figuratively for authentication, confirmation, proof, security, or possession. Be treasured and stored up by God against sinners. Be something stamped as authentic or as a mark of possession. It should also be noted there is a such a vast and extreme difference between God Almighty's seal, and that of man. Thus, when God says a man is sealed by the Holy Spirit, one should not normally need to say "How? I don't believe it!! Show me proof!" In essence, Mr. Blackwell is publically admitting he does NOT believe the written Word of God!! . Gal 3:1, 3 "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?" This verse is the perfect answer from Paul to the Galatians!! It is also the perfect answer to manifest the effect that false teachers / preachers have upon those who claim to believe and have faith; very prevalent among the CoC. Paul continues on in verse (3) "Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?" Reader, you need to understand false teachers cannot cause those of you saved by faith alone to lose your salvation, but they can cause you to "fall from grace" meaning they can influence you to live your Christian life in accordance with works, versus faith.

    That is only partly true Don, we are not saved by water baptism. Ephesians 2:8-9 we are saved by grace trough faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God. NOT OF WORKS, lest a man should boast. As far as the scripture we are not saved by the washing of the flesh, but by the baptism of the Spirit. Titus 3:5 says it is not by works of righteousness which we have done, but by his mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Revelation 1:5 When we put our trust in what Jesus did for us that we cannot do, is when we are saved and baptized by the Holy Ghost that washes us in his own blood. Your argument against the prayer of Franklin is somewhat skewed in that Paul prayed for us in Ephesians 3:14-21 that God would grant us, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in our inner man, that Christ may live in our hearts by faith. There is nothing unscriptural about Paul's prayer for those that are believers of Jesus, and that is what Franklin said, those that believe in Jesus. When we are baptized in water it is an act of obedience for us to see it as it is explained in Romans 6:3-4. It is the same as in the Old Testament for circumcision of the flesh was in obedience, but Paul said it is the circumcision of the heart that is done by God, not human hands. You have tried to cleverly distort the scriptures to say we are saved by the works of righteousness which we have done, but the scripture refutes that false argument. Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. He is saved by his faith and receives God's grace to be born again and made righteous.

      Hey it is a moot point!!! Baptism WAS required by the Great Commission, by Christ, for the nation of Israel. The completed actions in Acts 2 were entirely in agreement with the Great Commission, why the issue??? The issue is those actions are not for today, today we are saved by grace alone by faith alone, baptism is a work: "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."

    So when Paul says that Ananias said brother Paul receive your sight, why did Ananias call Paul a brother if he was not yet saved?

    • @robbyeversole7682
      @robbyeversole7682 2 дні тому

      He was a fellow Jew. The Greek word can mean several things...In that context, it means fellow Israelite... We know that it was salvation, because Jesus told Saul to go to that house to be "told what you must do." What Annanias told Saul was the "must do" that Jesus told him. "wash away your sins calling on the name of the Lord." That's salvation and made Saul a brother in Christ and not just a brother from a Tribe in Israel.

    • @RandyBrowning-x4j
      @RandyBrowning-x4j 2 дні тому

      Randy Browning Paul was saved on the road to Damascus, before he ever reached town. Paul was a blasphemer and could not be saved by the kingdom gospel. He was saved like the thief on the cross, in the presence of Jesus the Christ. Ananias laid his hands on Paul, thus restoring his sight and providing him the Holy Spirit much like the encounter Paul had in Acts 19. Paul was then baptized per Mark 16 and Paul had to be baptized to minister, due to his reputation preceding him. Paul's salvation provided the first member to the Church, Body of Christ, the current church started upon his salvation, the current gospel was also given to Paul, by Christ, the mystery gospel, a faith alone, by Christ alone gospel.

    • @robbyeversole7682
      @robbyeversole7682 2 дні тому

      @RandyBrowning-x4j I take up real issue with that statement. The Bible says (through the inspiration of PAULS pen), "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for IT is the power of God unto Salvation, for EVERYONE that believes, to the jew first and also to the Greek" (Romans 1:16). Paul obeyed the Gospel which saved him just like everyone else has to. Paul wasn't saved on the road to Damascus. On the road, the Lord told him, "go into the city to the street called straight to the house one named Judas and it will be told you what you must do" (Acts 9). Annanias shows up and Saul is blind, hasn't eaten in three days, and is praying. He's absolutely miserable...amd you think he's saved? Annanias to him to quit praying (why tariest thou) "Arise and be baptized and WASH AWAY THY SINS" I submit you aren't saved if your sins aren't washed away... and it was at the house that Saul was told he still needed to WASH AWAY HIS SINS (Acts 22:16). The thief on the cross lived under the Law of Moses (Hebrews 9:15-17). But Mark 1:4-5 does hint to the fact that the "penitent thief" was baptized and was possibly a disciple of John. He knew more about Jesus and the Kingdom than Jesus disciples did. And Jesus had power on earth to forgive sins (Matt.9:6). Salvation is common (Jude 3). So we're all (this side of the cross) saved the same way, but obeying the same Gospel, which is God's power to save.

      @@robbyeversole7682 Thank you much!! So, you do admit that one in the Presence of Jesus cannot be saved, because one has to be baptized?!?! Because Christ has no saving power?!!? Faith in Christ, plus ANYTHING else is a WORKS salvation. One cannot be saved by a works salvation; thus one is not saved by the kingdom gospel, a works gospel!! I believe the point was that in the context of the first century in acts 22, we can see that Ananias was indeed inspired because the Lord was working with him miraculously. Also I am not so sure that in Matthew 7:21-23 the people saying this to Jesus actually performed these claims. I came out of a very Charismatic doctrine where most people deceived themselves into thinking they were performing miracles, when in fact NOTHING took place. Just because they say this to Jesus on that day does not mean they actually did any of the things listed.

    The Bible says "let everyone of you 'be' baptized (immersed) in the name....Acts 2:38. "Make disciples baptizing (immersing) 'them' in the name of " Matthew 28:19 Those words of chant or incantation as some suppose, are invoked or are commanded before one is to be baptized or immersed that are to be reasoned or should be understood before the individual sinner is to be or submit themselves to the act of being laid under and taken up out of the water.

      JuanLopez It's just a ceremony; an outward expression by the outer man: . The heresy of the application is deeply ingrained within many denominations in the world today. There is no denying that the literal reading of scripture concerning the Great Commission appears to require baptism for the nation of Israel, but the application of applying baptism in order that a person must be saved, by baptism, is not believable. It is not believable for the reasons already cited within, nor is it believable based upon the nature of God. He would have all to be saved. He has been silent for almost two thousand years, while mankind has been wicked upon this earth and blasphemed His name into the heavens. He subjected His Holy Son, who knew no sin, to the utmost egregious abuse imaginable, and had Him crucified upon a cross, for a human being who could not be saved, because he could not be baptised?!!!! I do not believe that, do you??

    I know of only one gospel, the gospel, that was preached throughout the New Testament. Galatians 1:6-9 (KJV) 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

      @@TheHeavenTestdotnet-gr2ou Well, I guess I'm one of those that has been "fooled". Because part of obeying the gospel includes being "water baptized" for the forgiveness of one's sins. Jesus, His apostles and the NT clearly teaches this...

      @@TheHeavenTestdotnet-gr2ou The law Paul is referring to was the law of Moses that some Jewish Galatians were trying to push on newly minted Christians. This is quite clear when one reads Galatians 1-3. He also teaches that God is not a respecter of people who are " in Christ", including Jew or Gentile. He says those who have "put on Christ" are "one in Christ." How and when does this happen? "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ." Gal.3:27,28. So water baptism is indeed part of obeying the gospel.

      @@TheHeavenTestdotnet-gr2ou Hello, I'm not sure what the point is in your comments about comparing Acts 2 and Acts 10 as it pertains to obeying the gospel. What does that have to do with baptism being necessary as part of obedience to the gospel as I stated? I addressed your comments from Galatians citing that the law Paul was referring to was the law of Moses as not being necessary for salvation. So I don't know if you agree with me on that point. As an aside: Cornelius and his household were the first Gentiles to be saved and added to the church (a number of years since the church first started on Pentecost in Acts 2). This is the only time in the NT we see anyone receiving the same measure of the Holy Spirit that the apostles got in Acts 2 before being baptized. The reason? To utterly convince the apostles that the Gentiles were to be accepted into the church. To ask me whether or not God got excited and gave the Spirit too quickly is not germane to the discussion. What is, and what one should ask is what happened immediately after they received the Holy Spirit? Answer: They were water baptized. Why? Because they we're still in their sins and needed them to be washed away in baptism (cf. Acts 22:16). If that thinking is not correct why then did Peter command them to be baptized immediately after receiving the Spirit as they had received it? (Acts 10:47,48)

      @@martinthomas5774 Hello, friend. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus states, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." This gives direct Scriptural basis for the phraseology of "Father, Son, Holy Spirit". This is consistent with what Peter teaches in Acts 2:38, as Jesus is the Son. Jesus himself identifies with this title throughout his earthly ministry. They are equivalent titles (names), and this is likely a great example of synecdoche, which appears often in Scripture. The key point in both texts is the authority behind the soterial action, which is God, and identifying that authority. Great question. God Bless.

      Acts is where we see people who were being saved real time. Acts is where you find how to become a Christian. Gospels are why you should be a Christian, and everything else is written to Christians on how to behave as a Christian. You aren't going to find out how to be a Christian in a letter written to a group of Christians. No point in telling people who are already Christians how to become Christians.
